Frequently Asked Questions
-
We help mission-driven organizations and founders make a bigger impact by providing clarity, direction, and actionable strategies. Our work is done-with-you, which means we don’t execute tasks for you— we guide you, give recommendations, and help you make informed decisions about your operations, priorities, and growth.
Depending on what you need, this might include:
• Auditing your systems, team structure, and processes, then creating a 90-day plan with clear priorities
• Ongoing consulting to support strategic decisions and alignment
• Facilitating annual planning or retreats to help teams clarify goals and focus for the year
Think of us as a thought partner who helps you see what’s working, what isn’t, and what to do next— so you can spend less time stressed or stuck and more time advancing your mission.
-
Human-centered operations strategy is about designing your organization’s systems, processes, and workflows around the people who make it run— including you, your team, and the people you serve. It’s not just about efficiency or tools; it’s about creating operations that actually support the humans behind them, reduce friction, and allow your mission to thrive.
In practice, this means:
• Understanding how your team works and what they need to succeed
• Identifying bottlenecks and gaps in your processes
• Aligning your goals, systems, and priorities so they work for the people doing the work, not against them
• Creating actionable strategies and plans that make running your organization less overwhelming and more intentional
The result is a business or organization that runs more smoothly, supports your team, and frees you to focus on the impact you actually want to create.

Not exclusively! We also work with impact-focused founders, community initiatives, and socially conscious small businesses. We typically partner with organizations and leaders whose work advances human rights, access, and equity.
If your mission helps people or communities thrive, there’s a good chance we’ll be a strong fit. ☺

Absolutely. While JJVS is proudly based in Bronzeville, we currently partner with clients nationwide, from LA to NYC and everywhere in between.
While most of our work happens virtually, we’re happy to consider travel for select client meetings, projects, and events when it makes sense.

Our work is designed to be collaborative— done with you, not for you. We help you clarify direction, set priorities and make confident, strategic decisions, so you can take aligned action with greater focus and less overwhelm.

No— our team focuses on strategy and clarity. We help you define what needs to happen, and if you end up needing additional support, we refer trusted partners who can help you execute.

Here’s how we typically work with clients, step by step:
1. Inquiry — You’ll complete our partnership inquiry form to share details about your business and what kind of support you’re looking for.
2. Fit Review — We’ll review your submission and, if it feels aligned, send next steps (either a link to book your audit or a quick call if clarification is needed). Our team will be sure to respond with a note if we believe someone else might be a better fit for your needs.
3. Proposal & Agreement — You’ll receive a detailed proposal outlining scope, pricing, and timeline. Once confirmed, we’ll finalize the service agreement and invoice.
4. Onboarding — You’ll get a welcome packet, intake form, and scheduling link (when applicable).
5. Work Together — Depending on your service, we’ll dive into strategy, planning, or facilitation sessions.
6. Offboarding — We’ll close with a debrief, next steps, and resources or referrals to help you continue the work.
-
Simply use the partnership inquiry form above to submit an application.
We’ll follow up within a few business days with next steps— whether that’s a proposal, a few recommendations or a note if we believe someone else might be a better fit for your needs.

Yes! We reserve a set number of reduced-rate and scholarship spots each quarter for nonprofits and community-based organizations— especially those located on the South Side of Chicago or serving under-resourced communities.
If you’d like to be considered, you can indicate your interest on the inquiry form by selecting “Yes, please add me to the waitlist for reduced-rate or scholarship services.”
These spots are filled as they become available.

Our services are customized to each organization’s needs, but here’s a general idea:
• Audit + 90-Day Strategic Plan: starts at $1,200.
• Ongoing Consulting Retainer: starts at $1,000/month for light advisory or $1,500+/month for deeper strategic partnership.
• Annual Retreat Facilitation: starts at $2,500 depending on group size and preparation needed.
Each service begins with an intake and assessment process so I can determine the best fit, scope, and timeline for your goals.
If budget is a concern, please still reach out. There are flexible and accessible options available, and we’re happy to discuss what might work best for your organization.
